Project Details
Description
This project aims to articulate a novel ‘distributed creativity’ framework that can balance recognition of singular visionaries and multiple experts in manifesting a creative work. This will be significant to addressing cultural, industrial, historical, and theoretical confusion over authorship and collaboration in film and beyond. Hosted by the Amsterdam Eye Filmmuseum and the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research, this international interdisciplinary project will produce a film and book and initiate new projects. The outcome will be insights into the balance between directors and dynamic systems that can redress entrenched cultural misapprehensions and damaging film history myths about authorship.
