Description

This application seeks funding to develop well-evidenced and widely disseminated learning on digital career development.

Our innovative digital employability initiative aims to provide career information and advice, and build career development capabilities through an integrated digital curriculum. The pilot digital employability program has already been developed through strong industry partnership, and includes formal and informal career learning opportunities including industry immersion modules and career-related action learning activities in a 100% digital environment.

This digital career initiative establishes connections between study, personal development and industry experience, and supports learners to develop career-relevant skills as well as their personal and professional self-agency. It also seeks to motivate self-directed learning and enable learners to understand themselves and their experiences as employability resources.

The project will pilot this unique digital employability program in Macquarie University’s Global MBA (GMBA) aiming to:

1) Develop, for scalable uptake, a comprehensive framework for digital career development programs and a suite of employability resources for higher education

2) Build a website to improve the quality of careers information and advice for national higher education institutions to implement digital career development programs.

3) Disseminate the digital career development framework widely, both nationally and internationally to enhance Australia’s reputation as a leader in digital employability
