Enhancing Inclusion and Communication for Adults with Hearing Loss through Sensor-Fusion Empowerment Networks

Problem Statement: Hearing loss significantly hampers healthy ageing and independent living. Current hearing devices and their lack of personalised metrics fail to fully address communication difficulties, resulting in strained social interactions and increased risks for dementia, depression and other health complications. Our project seeks to solve this through sensor-fusion machine learning with data from wearables and hearing devices to develop a composite metric that could be built into hearing devices for personalised adjustments and significantly improve accessibility, inclusion, and the quality of life for individuals with hearing loss.
