Establishing an advanced platform for single cell analysis

Our project will establish an advanced platform for single cell analysis through the purchase of a flow sorter. This sorter will enable the separation of patient tumour biopsies into specific cancer and stromal cell subpopulations. This study will include melanoma patients as part of the NHMRC Melanoma Research program and other cancer patients undergoing treatment at Macquarie University Hospital, as part of the MQ Live Cancer Biobank. The sorter will also accelerate the development of genetically engineered cellular models of motor neuron disease and cancer. These models can be used to understand disease mechanisms, discover and validate novel treatments.
