Establishing an advanced platform for single cell fluorescent imaging and analysis

This request is to purchase a yellow-green (561nm) laser for our existing flow cytometer, and the ‘HyVolution’ imaging software for super-resolution analysis. The laser is a missing piece of infrastructure that will greatly improve the sensitivity and detection power of the current flow cytometer and the imaging-software will significantly improve the extraction of information from imaging data. The two items will be used together to provide in-depth characterisation of individual cells, which is not achievable with the existing setup. These upgrades will significantly enhance the capability of the Faculty’s fluorescent detection suite for world-class research exploring underlying mechanisms in neurological and oncological diseases.
