Project Details

Description

This project will involve a 2-year follow-up survey of 5,200 adolescents who initially completed a survey about eating disorders and body image in 2017. At the time of the proposed survey, the age range of participants will be 14 to 21 years. This survey will provide new information, internationally, on eating disorders and associated body image disorders (e.g., muscle dysmorphia) regarding age of onset, risk and protective factors, 2-year health burden and treatment access. This will inform the development of diagnostic models, and prevention and early intervention initiatives to reduce the burden of eating disorders in young Australians.
