Traditional medicine remains a widespread therapeutic approach worldwide as in New Caledonia where it co-exists with modern therapies. Phytotherapy is increasingly employed to cure symptoms of chronic inflammatory diseases. Herein, the research project aims at evaluating anti-inflammatory potentials of plants traditionally used in folk medicine in New Caledonia. In order to validate their usage and provision to the population, precise action mechanisms of vegetal extracts will be investigated through the identification of molecular targets.
