Evaluation of pesticide exposure to native stingless bees in Ku-ring-gai

With the support of Ku-ring-gai’s Native Bee Program, this project will examine what types of pesticides, and at what concentrations, local Ku-ring-gai native stingless bees are being exposed to via pesticide residue analysis on stingless bee honey. Furthermore, this data can be used in combination with the history information of the stingless bee colonies provided by Ku-ring-gai’s Native Bee Program. This will indicate if and how pesticide exposure is associated with colony health and performance.
