Description

The purpose of the Australian Alumni Grants Round in Brazil is to support Brazilian alumni of Australian institutions to undertake projects which strengthen Brazil-Australia collaboration in education, science, research and innovation: https://brazil.embassy.gov.au/bras/alumnigrants.html

Project proposed in this application:
Overarching aim: to create psychologically safer spaces for the Forensic medical examination (FME) in Emergency Departments for domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) victim survivors. Project Objective: to address structural inequities by proposing built environment design principles for FME spaces that consider the needs of the population most victimised by DFSV* while complying with guidelines and protocols (i.e., functional requirements). *Females that may include culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) populations – e.g., migrants and refugees, the LGBTQI+ community, and people with a disability.
