From Prototype to Production: Implementing Synthetic Chromosome Technology in Crops

We’ve been invited at the last minute to join an application for an ARIA grant (https://www.aria.org.uk/synthetic-plants-programme/) which is being led by University of Cambridge and collaborating with Phytoform and the University of Western Australia (application will be submitted by University of Cambridge). The application is for the development of artificial plant chromosomes and delivery into plant cells. The MQ request for funding by ARIA is one level B postdoc for 3 years plus consumables and overheads (will require 1 extra lab bench and desk). Additional funding for DNA synthesis and assembly costs and omics costs for QC and verification will come from Bioplatforms Australia as supporting funds for this project.
