Genome sequencing of 6 heat evolved microalgae strains

We sequenced the genome of 6 Symbiodiniaceae strains that have been heat-evolved with experimental evolution (assisted evolution). The microalgae are symbionts of corals and play a crucial role in the coral thermal tolerance. We aim to identify adaptations and structural rearrangements from the comparative genomic analysis that support an enhanced heat stress resistance.
