Identifying genetic tools towards more productive cotton crops

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

We intend to identify key genes as targets through which stress tolerance can be explored and incorporated into breeding programmes. We have evidence that the identification of heat-tolerant photosynthetic pathways in the vegetative phase and more viable pollen in the reproductive phase contribute to efficient water use, as measured by biomass gain and lint yield.
