Description
Workplace equality laws are of little value if they are not translated into practice. This project aims to generate original empirical data on how organisations implement their legal obligations across the Asia-Pacific, situating workplace equality laws in their wider cultural and socio-political context. Focusing on Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, it addresses the need for more regionally focused, evidence-based theory, and advances knowledge of what drives or impedes organisational practices. The nominated jurisdictions of Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan included in this project offer a rich range of legal regulatory, socio-political, and cultural variables from which to construct a comparative and contextualised account of the implementation of workplace equality obligations by organisations in the region.
