    Project Details

    Description

Chronic pain affects one in five adolescents, and causes significant physical and psychological burden for adolescents and their families. Pain management programs, which teach adolescents about pain and how to manage its impacts are now recognised as a critical component of chronic pain treatment. However, access to such programs is severely limited in Australia, especially for adolescents. The proposed project aims to develop and evaluate the efficacy of a new, innovative, Internet-delivered pain management program for adolescents with chronic pain. The proposed project represents a critical first step in addressing a significant and currently unmet need in Australia.
