Project Details
Description
The purpose of the study is to establish how Australian and Japanese fans understand the inter-relationships of Japanese and Korean pop-culture, as well as to understand the “affective” or emotional impact consumption of Japanese and Korean pop-culture has had on fans’ everyday lives. I am particularly interested in understanding how Japanese and Korean pop-cultural forms are consumed in tandem, and how this may (or may not) impact knowledge concerning Asia. A second outcome of the project is a minor focus on queer consumers of K-pop in Japan and Australia
