Description

Climate-related risks are contributing to rising displacement around the world. This project aims to investigate the social consequences of planned resettlement linked to climate change impacts in Vietnam. The research will focus on the ‘living with the floods’ program which led to the resettlement of one million people. New knowledge will be generated on the social impacts of resettlement as well as alternatives to resettlement. The expected outcomes include a contextual understanding of the consequences of resettlement and identification of alternatives to resettlement. It is expected the research will support communities, governments and organisations involved in climate change adaptation planning.
