Conventional competition law analysis used by competition authorities in assessing competitive effects in traditional markets faces limitations when applied in online markets. This project explores more innovative instruments and approaches that are more adequate for competition law analysis in online markets.
This project is significant as the digital economy continues to grow and Big Data in particular is becoming increasingly important. It is imperative that competition authorities assess competition law issues in online markets accurately in order to protect consumers and the competitive process without stifling innovation.
