Description
Glaucoma causes blindness and despite our best treatment many patients continue to progress. A new and innovative approach is needed to protect the cells that die in the retina. We have engineered a protease inhibitor – neuroserpin – a protein that is deactivated in the disease. We aim to deliver this molecule to retinal cells using an “artificial virus” approach and determine its usefulness as a novel and innovative therapy in glaucoma.
