Licinia Eudoxia: an imperial life across two empires: the completion of a monograph on a late Roman empress for OUP

This project aims to complete a monograph on the fifth century AD Roman empress Licinia Eudoxia, currently under contract with Oxford University Press for its ‘Women in Antiquity’ series. Its key significance lies in providing the first scholarly book in any language on this pivotal figure of the later Roman empire and her first-hand experience of political crises of the era. By pursuing research for this monograph at the British School in Rome, Radboud University, Nijmegen and Macquarie University, this period of OSP will enable me to achieve the expected outcome of submission of the monograph in January 2020.
