Loss-of-function of site-specific tau phosphorylation in Alzheimer's disease

This project aims to explore a novel explanation for the cause of memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease. The nature of the chemical processes that use brain proteins to represent memory within brain cells is unknown. This project uses a series of different and innovative approaches to study these chemical processes and how the loss of normal chemical processes in the brain contributes to the memory loss observed in Alzheimer’s disease.
