Mapping Macquarie University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy curriculum to a work readiness framework

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Work readiness, or the ability to successfully transition into the workplace is an outcome of all university programs. Recent research defining the domains of work readiness has found six unique but interrelated domains that contribute to work readiness. These domains create a framework in which university curricula can be mapped, to identify strengths and areas for opportunity to improve curriculum to enhance work readiness. Macquarie University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) with its extended curriculum aims to produce graduates with a broadened skill set required to successfully navigate the modern healthcare system. The aim of this research is to map the DPT curriculum to the work readiness framework, to evaluate the extent to which the DPT curriculum enhances the work readiness of its graduates.
