Multilingual Sydney: Human Sciences Perspectives on New Urban Diversities

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The workshop is an initiative of the MQ Multilingualism Research Group, which is currently based in the Departments of Linguistics and Educational Studies. In view of Macquarie University’s location on Darug Aboriginal land in a highly multilingual area of the city, the Group aims to foster research on multilingualism across the University and, in particular, to seek out opportunities for high quality, impactful, collaborative research involving senior and mid-career researchers, ECRs, HDRs and community stakeholders. In our search for expressions of interest for participation in a workshop to further these aims, we have come to realise that the University now has a critical mass of researchers working on varied aspects of multilingualism and urban diversities, that has the potential to establish the University as a leader in the field, both in Sydney and Australia.
