Photothermal deflection spectroscopy system for defect characterisation in optical and electronic materials and devices

This MQRIS small application seeks to purchase a Photothermal Deflection Spectroscopy (PDS) system. PDS enables high sensitivity characterisation of sub-bandgap energy levels and defects in materials, heterojunctions, and devices. This will significantly enhance faculty’s research capabilities in the fabrication and development of high-quality materials and devices for solar cells, optoelectronic sensors, lasers, LEDs and other bio/semiconductor devices. These are growing research areas at MQ, with critical mass recently achieved in engineering.
