Physiological Markers of Logical Intuitions and Conflict Detection

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This research will, for the first time, introduce objective physiological markers of cognition to the field of Thinking and Reasoning. By introducing methodologies which are novel to this field, we hope to provide new tests of the influential Logical Intuition Dual-Process account of human reasoning. While the Logical
Intuition Dual Process model is influential within the field of Thinking and Reasoning, it also has practical applications in areas such as human factors, education, and developmental research. We anticipate that evidence for physiological markers of logical intuitions and conflict detection will further
our understanding of the boundary conditions of intuitive sensitivity to logical structure.
