Paramedische Zorg 2023-2026

Layman's description

Low back pain (LBP) affected 619 million people globally in 2020, with numbers expected to reach 843 million by 2050. In the Netherlands, LBP costs society around 3.5 billion euros annually, primarily due to productivity loss and high recurrence rates, with 70% of patients experiencing a LBP recurrence within 12 months. Currently, there is no structured strategy to prevent LBP recurrence after physiotherapy/exercise therapy. This project aims to adapt, implement, and evaluate the Australian WalkBack intervention (referred to in the current project as the Structured Approach for the Prevention of LBP [SAP_LBP]) in the Netherlands to reduce recurrent LBP and associated costs.
