Retinal vascular changes as a biomarker of cardiovascular risk in obstructive sleep apnea

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

We aim to review a cohort of patients, with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) diagnosed 5-7 years ago, to look for retinal vascular markers that are known to be correlated with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. This project is to assess whether markers of vascular status in the eye can be used as an indicator of OSA severity, and whether these changes are modified with appropriate and compliant use of continuous positive airway pressure devices (CPAP).
