Riparian and groundwater dependant vegetation condition project for northern Basin MER

The purpose of this proposed project is to fulfil the legislative requirements of the Water Management Act (2000) and Basin Plan. It is a requirement under the Acts to evaluate the effectiveness of WSP and WRP rules and strategies in achieving objectives and targets. Objectives within WSPs include the protection, restoration or enhancement of riparian vegetation and GDEs. Remote sensing be used to assess changes to extent and condition of these indicators. Once assessed the effectiveness of WSP rules in achieving vegetation and GDE objectives can then be evaluated.
