The primary aim of this research is to establish the following:
• where in Australia are Croatian classes offered and under what circumstances (venue, funding, teacher availability, student cohort, teaching materials used etc.);
• what social and affective factors influence student, teacher and community motivation to enrol in/hold Croatian classes and actively work on home language maintenance;
• how has the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 impacted Croatian language programs across Australia.
