Project Details

Description

Responsible investment (RI) refers to a broad approach to investing with due consideration for sustainability or ethical concerns.

Coupled with the impact of climate risk on RI, the focus on RI has increased exponentially in recent years. Evaluating and developing methodologies and mechanisms to account for RI practices by corporations is an important research topic. This Project aims to evaluate the data and methodology for the industry-backed RI metric to enhance its applicability in sustainable investing and test the effects of climate risk on financial markets and asset allocation.

The expected outcomes from the Project include real impact via the data analytics-backed academic research on industry practice and further insights on the crucial linkage between climate risk and the financial markets. The Project will result in high-impact publications in sustainable investing and climate finance research fields. The Project will make significant research impacts
via industry-academic partnerships on data, analytics and domain expertise. This will be a clear demonstration of how historical climate reanalysis data and future climate projections, can be used to quantify climate risk and inform ethical investing.
