The project brings clarity to debates on the future of work as major concerns are raised by the on-coming industrial revolution. This revolution is set to disrupt labour markets and the work patterns of individuals, forcing a re-evaluation of work as a central value of modern societies. Using an interdisciplinary approach, the project draws a map of the different kinds of objections raised against work and mounts a systematic rejoinder, to make a new case for work. A research monograph will provide the backbone for a collaborative online reference tool on work issues. Targeted events and public interventions will disseminate the findings and advance the national conversation on the future of work.
