    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Macquarie University will perform literature-based curation of gene functions in Escherichia coli, with a primary focus on genes which encode membrane proteins, and enter the curated information into the EcoCyc database on a regular basis. Macquarie University will also regularly undertake bioinformatic analysis of E.coli genes of unknown function and will update EcoCyc with any new gene functional predictions. Macquarie will collaborate with SRI on comparing computational predictions for wild type and mutant E.coli strains with experimental data, updating protein secretion and trafficking pathways, and on bioinformatics analyses of the E.coli metabolic network.
