The Feedback Effect of Banks’ Personal Carbon Tracking Solution

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Decarbonisation depends on consumption patterns, but consumers lack knowledge of the carbon impacts of their choices. We will investigate whether feedback and reduction goals for carbon footprints influence spending patterns and reduce customers’ carbon emissions. The project includes two experiments to test different forms of goals and feedback. These experiments will provide proof of concept for a Linkage Grant application with CBA, including access to CBA transactional databases for large scale Randomised Controlled Trials of interventions. Outputs will also include an academic article, and a white paper detailing applications for the Australian and international banking industries and relevant policy makers.
