Description
Dr Doel-Mackaway is part of an international research team that spans across five continents, led by Associate Professor Tara Collins from Ryerson University, Canada & Honorary Associate Professor at University of Cape Town (South Africa), who have been awarded a $2,499,993 CDN Partnership Grant by the Canadian Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council, as well as additional cash and in-kind funding of $2,521,052 CDN from multi-sectoral organizational partners.
This support will facilitate work by the International and Canadian Child Rights Partnership (ICCRP) to undertake a 7-year project to advance children’s rights internationally.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is the most highly ratified international human rights treaty. However, there has been a global stagnation in child rights progress and the ICCRP formed in 2015 as a response to this concerning trend. This new project will address critical gaps in international knowledge about how to advance the CRC and transform research, law, policy and practice via intergenerational partnerships.
