The National NeuroProteomics Infrastructure Facility for Motor Neuron Disease and Neurodegenerative Diseases

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

FightMND National Research Infrastructure Grant

The NNPF for MND research in Australia will transform and revolutionise how we advance research in neurodegenerative diseases. No dedicated Neuroproteomics facility exists globally, and our initiative will address this gap by establishing the first comprehensive infrastructure. This facility will build on the current MQ MND Research Centre's cutting-edge proteomics capabilities and empower MND researchers on a streamlined and standardised proteomics platform. This will enable deep analysis of cell-, animal models, and patient samples, paving the way for breakthroughs in disease mechanisms, early biomarkers, and novel therapeutic targets. This facility will offer comprehensive analysis to support research and clinical streams to engage with drug validation and target engagement, while providing detailed insights into proteins, cell pathways, and roles in diseases.
