This project is funded through the Macquarie Advantage Innovation in Education Grant Scheme (Catalyst Grant, 2025), an internal competitive program supporting practical and creative approaches to improving education. The 2025 scheme theme focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Assessment, supporting interdisciplinary projects that explore how AI can transform assessment practices across disciplines.
Within this framework, the project develops and pilots a structured prompt-design resource (“The Prompt Grimoire”) to support ethical, transparent, and pedagogically grounded use of generative AI in formative assessment. The project is implemented in translation and other critical thinking, and writing-focused units, where iterative drafting, feedback, and revision cycles are central to learning. It investigates the validity of AI-enabled feedback, workload implications, and access to frontier large language models, producing discipline-adaptable resources for wider tertiary education use.
