The Western Society for French History Annual Conference

At the 2018 Western Society for French History conference, I will present new research on how the Vichy French state upended traditional fashion norms in women’s sports during the Occupation of France. This research will illustrate the role that the authoritarian Vichy state played in the construction of wartime and postwar gender identities. It will also likely result in an article length publication. I am asking for MQ Primary Carer Support for extraordinary in-home care for my newborn in order to make it feasible for me to attend the conference without unduly burdening my family's already stressed finances.
