Description
The first generation of Australians born near 9/11 are coming of age. Combining interviews with innovative storytelling workshops in Sydney schools and universities, this project aims to provide the first comparison of the generational and racialised impact of the war on terror on Muslim and non-Muslim post 9/11 youth by focusing on their trust relations, political consciousness and fears.
Expected outcomes include new knowledge in the largely youth-blind studies of the geopolitics of fear, and enhanced understandings of the racialised dimensions to Muslim and non-Muslim youth’s trust relations and political consciousness. This should provide significant benefits in formulating multicultural, education and CVE (countering violent extremism) policy.
