Description

Understanding responsibility is critical for developing socially and politically just responses to climate change. This project aims to provide a theoretical and empirically based analysis of the dynamics, discourses and practice of urban climate responsibility in the Asia Pacific region. It will (a) systematically review the literature on responsibility (b) review policies and map discourses of responsibility across cities in the Asia-Pacific and (c) interrogate practices of responsibility in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. It will provide a comprehensive analysis about the geographies of responsibility across the Asia Pacific region and improve understandings about the role of cities in developing equitable responses to climate change.
