Project Details

Description

The research project focuses on the ways in which cultural creative place making activities are linked to social and economic value, in order to reinforce these activities have direct or associated financial value for developers themselves. Whilst the cultural and social value of placemaking may be broadly recognised (see for example, McLaren, 2013; Kelkar and Spinelli, 2016)1; there remains a discernible difficulty in assessing and evidencing the socio-economic value of such community-building activities. This research project seeks to identify specific social and economic indicators that may be used to evaluate and value creative place-making as a valuable developmental tool in its own right.
