Description
Biomechanical measurement of fatigue markers using wearable technology shows promise as a method for detecting training errors (such as over-training) and facilitating injury prevention amongst people engaged in physical activity or sport. This project will 1) investigate the typical behaviour of biomechanical fatigue markers during and after periods of increased training in males and females based on laboratory and field tests, 2) provide athletes, coaches and clinicians with guidelines regarding optimal assessment of biomechanical fatigue markers in field settings, and 3) provide wearable technology manufacturers with guidance regarding the minimal technical specifications required to assess biomechanical fatigue markers in athletes.
