Abstract

The region covered lies between latitudes 21o and 21o30'S and longitudes 139o17' and 140oE. The bulk of the area is occupied by deformed Precambrian metamorphic rocks that form part of the Cloncurry Complex of the Mount Isa inliers. Cambrian rocks occur in the SE and there are numerous granites in the Precambrian complex.
