Abstract
The survey investigates the experiences of Australian authors in the contemporary national and international book industry. It examines authors’ experiences of publishing, promotional strategies, changes in income, and copyright infringement. It also examines whether authors are changing their creative and work practices in response to shifts in the industry. The project is an update of the earlier survey of Australian book authors carried out by the present authors in 2015. This report contains a brief discussion of the main results of the survey, together with the full questionnaire and the responses to all questions.
