    Abstract

This report brings the results of the fifth season of archaeological excavations at Bribirska glavica as part of the international archaeological project Varvaria/Berberium/Bribir, which started in 2014. The excavations took place on the area of the modern cemetery of Bribirska glavica around the Church of Sts Joachim and Anna and the area east of the contemporary cemetery wall. This year’s excavations continued in the trench 21, and new trenches (22, 23, 24 and 25) were opened and excavated around the church. Trench 21 revealed two medieval graves, trench 22 the entrance to the previously excavated hypogeum, trench 23 the remains of the eastern apse of the Early Christian central building as well as the remains of the fence wall of the entire Early Christian complex. Part of the same wall was found in a trench 24. A wall parallel to the southwestern wall of the present church was found in the trench 25. It belongs to the structure adjacent to the previously excavated central building dating from the 6th century AD.
