Abstract

This paper presents a compact and geometrically simple Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) fed antenna proposed for ISM and WLAN applications. The antenna operates on ISM band at 2.45 GHz (IEEE 802.11b/g), 5G and WLAN band at 5.4 GHz (IEEE 802.11a). The proposed antenna is embedded on FR4 substrate material with thickness of 1.6 mm. Moreover, the antenna consists of CPW feed, slotted rectangular patch and rectangular stub placed at the top of radiator to improve performance of antenna. The design evolution is discussed in detail and various performance parameters have been analyzed. Furthermore, the proposed antenna is compared with state-of-the-art works to demonstrate the potential of proposed design for the applications in the targeted frequency bands.
