Abstract

The decorrelation algorithms are used to filter coherent signals generated from multipath propagation in practical array signal processing systems. However, the existing decorrelation DOA algorithms eliminate the coherency by sacrificing effective array aperture. In this paper, a modified SS algorithm, Virtual-array SS (VSS), is proposed based on virtual array extension for decorrelation. VSS utilizes non-circular symmetry incident signal to extend the original array to generate virtual signal array. The direction finding performance of the virtual array is analyzed using MUSIC-like algorithms. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective on decorrelation.
