Abstract
A dual-band, dual-polarization, coaxial receiver system was designed and constructed for Parkes radio telescope for 10-cm and 50-cm wavelengths. A coaxial feed horn was used for the optimization of the gain with the constraint of the available space in the focal cabin of the telescope. A choke was located between the radiating apertures to improve the radiation pattern symmetry of the inner waveguide for the HF-band.
