Abstract

A continuously pumped Nd:YAG laser has been developed to produce a single stable 0.3 mJ pulse of 200 ps duration at a repetition rate of 6 kHz. The laser is modelocked and Q switched acousto-optically and cavity dumped by a lithium niobate Pockel's cell. Its output is synchronized to c.w. modelocked Nd:YAG and dye lasers controlled by the same 50 MHz oscillator to within 55 ps jitter.
