Abstract
A broadband continuous wave source of amplified spontaneous emission based on heavily Ho-doped fiber is presented. Maximum output power up to 273 mW was obtained, central wavelength varied from 2.025 to 2.05 μm and full width at half maximum of 54 nm was measured. The influence of the active ion concentration and fiber length on the emission spectrum was studied.
