A Review of online banking in China

Abstract

We review the recent developments in online banking in China. By any measure growth has been startling, driven by rapidly growing domestic prosperity and international trade. However proportionally few citizens are making use of online banking services and few of those that do are using all the services at their disposal. Cultural issues related to the use and handling of money are canvassed, and an overall question of trust in the Internet generally and the banking system in particular.
