Abstract

A switching voltage of 2V ce is obtained in a current pulser by 'sharing' it between two high-current, switching transistors operating in series. Upper limits on the duration and repetition rate of the current pulses are set by allowable dissipation; typically, 2 A can be pulsed for 1 μs at rates up to 20 kHz.
